Nokia 2.4

The smartphone market is heterogenous, comprising of consumers with varying needs, aspirations and preferences. Not every smartphone user is a casual or serious gamer. Not every smartphone buyer is a photography-obsessed expert. Therefore, it is key not to look at all smartphones through the same prism. The Nokia 2.4 is an interesting device.

The Nokia 2.4 sports a lightweight build. The phone is tall, and yet convenient to hold. It comes with a polycarbonate back in three colours: dusk, charcoal and fjord. The beautiful and gradient matte finish eliminates the usual fingerprint smudges. The phone comes with 13 MP camera with LED flash, and a fingerprint sensor that works well.

On the front, the phone comes with a 6.5-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display is decent and sharp enough for enjoying photos and videos, for reading text, and for running apps. The large screen is worth it for the price that the phone commands.

Nokia 2.4 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 processor with 3GB RAM and 64GB storage. This translates into a smooth enough experience as a daily driver. You could run popular apps, but it is ideal not to run multiple apps at once. This phone enables you to capture and store enough life memories as well as apps. If one needs more memory, there is the provision for a micro-SD card.

The Nokia 2.4 sports a 4500 mAh battery. This is larger than usual for a smartphone in this segment. With a standby time of two days, and an intensive screen-time of around eight hours daily, this phone delivers with its solid battery life. That said, the charging is slow, takes almost three hours, owing to a 5W micro-USB charger.

The camera performance is decent. At times, the photos and videos lack some of the finer details, but suffice for sharing with loved ones over social communication tools. The photos do look good in the night mode as well.

Thanks to Android 10, the Nokia 2.4 offers a pure and user-friendly Android user experience, free of advertisements, and unnecessary pre-loaded apps. Also, this phone is appealing considering that is ready for Android 11 update, and perhaps Android 12 as well. Then there are the three years of guaranteed monthly security updates that Nokia promises. These updates will keep the phone protected against security vulnerabilities at the OS level, and make this device more compelling against a powerful competition.

In conclusion, the Nokia 2.4 with its large screen, long battery life, and stock Android experience with guaranteed user-friendly software updates, is an interesting proposition. This is a good choice especially for those who just seek a phone with durability and reliability.
